Proposal to provide <br />Landscape Architectural Design Services for loth and Flower Park — RFP No. 22-124 <br />Landscape Designer <br />Education <br />BS, Landscape Architecture, 2019, California State Polytechnic <br />University, Pomona <br />Years of Experience <br />4 <br />Rachel Wells has four years of professional <br />landscape design experience and has worked on <br />a variety of land development projects ranging <br />from parks, trails, streetscapes, and demonstration <br />gardens. Additionally, Rachel has been involved with <br />the design of several transportation projects ranging <br />from single interchanges to expansive corridors. <br />Standard and McFadden Park, Santa Ana, <br />California <br />DEA was provided a conceptual design of Standard <br />and McFadden Park, a 2-acre neighborhood park <br />in the city of Santa Ana, and is currently working to <br />prepare final plans and construction administration. <br />The design includes walkways, playground <br />equipment, a skatepark, half -court basketball, a picnic <br />area, a shade structure, a rock bioswale, California <br />friendly plants, drip irrigation, low impact development <br />drainage and lighting. Other amenities including a <br />park entrance sign, benches, picnic tables, bike racks, <br />and drinking fountains will also be provided. Rachel <br />provided landscape design. <br />Mariposa Park, Santa Ana, California <br />Rachel provided drone imagery for Mariposa Park, <br />a one -acre neighborhood park in the City of Santa <br />Ana. The local residents requested that the park <br />include a playground, a teaching area for active <br />lifestyle classes and a community garden. The design <br />includes walkways, playground equipment, a picnic <br />area, a shade structure, a rock bioswale, California <br />friendly plants, drip irrigation, low impact development <br />drainage and lighting. <br />Turf Removal and Demonstration Garden, Palm <br />Springs, California <br />DEA landscape architects provided conceptual <br />design services for turf removal at the Palm Springs <br />International Airport in California's Coachella Valley. <br />Rachel is spearheading the design efforts for a <br />10,000 square foot demonstration garden immediately <br />outside the main terminal for the airport. This garden <br />will demonstrate water -saving alternatives to the <br />traditional turf lawns for home and business owners <br />alike. Various planting schemes will be demonstrated <br />in the garden including wildflowers, native plants, <br />pollination plants, edible plants, cacti, succulents, <br />spreading groundcovers, and synthetic turf. Inert <br />materials of gravel and decomposed granite will <br />delineate pathways for navigation through the garden. <br />San Sevaine Bike Trail, Fontana, California <br />Rachel has been assisting DEA's traffic engineers in <br />the design of the San Sevaine Bike Trail in Fontana, <br />California. Beginning at Banyan Avenue, this bike <br />trail project runs southward along the western side <br />of San Sevaine/Etiwanda Channel for about a mile <br />and a half. After passing under both the 210 and 1-15 <br />freeways and across Victoria Street, the bike trail <br />ends at the Pacific Electric Bike Trail. Streetscape and <br />pedestrian connectivity improvements along Victoria <br />Street are also a major part of this project Rachel has <br />been assisting on. Simultaneously, Rachel has been <br />working on the landscape design of the trailheads <br />for this project. Close coordination with the cities of <br />Rancho Cucamonga and Fontana were integral to <br />achieve the desired landscape of native planting, rock <br />blanket, permanent irrigation, and site amenities like <br />benches, drinking fountains, and trash receptacles. <br />Contemplation Garden, Claremont, California <br />In addition to producing color conceptual plan <br />graphics, Rachel assisted in the design of a <br />contemplation garden at Harvey Mudd College in <br />Claremont, California. DEA landscape architects <br />worked with Harvey Mudd College to design a <br />contemplative space for students to relax and unwind <br />while on campus. The design includes drought <br />tolerant, California friendly plants, large benches, a <br />relaxing water feature, and small shade structure. <br />Morningstar, Mission Viejo, California <br />Rachel finalized the design and plan processing <br />efforts for the Morningstar Senior Care Facility in the <br />City of Mission Viejo. <br />Railroad Canyon Interchange Wall Aesthetics, <br />Lake Elsinore, California <br />DEA landscape architects provided conceptual <br />and final design for the 1-15 / Railroad Canyon <br />Road interchange in the city of Lake Elsinore <br />which included planting and irrigation throughout <br />the corridor. The design intent includes permanent <br />planting in highly visible areas such as at on and off <br />ramps. Meandering, colorful bands of planting and <br />decorative hardscape will be installed during roadway <br />construction.
