Nominate and appoint a representative and alternate to the Santa Ana River <br />Flood Protection Agency (SARFPA). <br />2. Nominate and appoint a representative to the Southern California Association of <br />Governments (SCAG) and the Orange County Council of Governments <br />(OCCOG) and nominate and appoint an alternate to OCCOG. <br />3. Nominate and appoint an alternate for purposes of the SCAG Regional <br />Conference and General Assembly Business Meeting only. <br />4. Direct the City Clerk to update and post the Fair Political Practices Commission <br />(FPPC) Form 806 (Agency Report of Public Official Appointments) on the City’s <br />website. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The City Council represents the City’s interests in regional issues by serving on a <br />number of regional boards/agencies which make public policy decisions in the areas of <br />transportation, water resources, fire services, and government facilities. <br />At its meeting of December 20, 2022, the City Council made appointments to several <br />regional boards. At that time, the Santa Ana River Flood Protection Agency (SARFPA) <br />was inadvertently left off the list of appointments. Therefore, appointment of a <br />representative and alternate are needed. The SARFPA bylaws require the <br />representative to be a member of the City Council but the alternate position can be filled <br />by staff, if desired. <br />On December 20, 2022, the City Council appointed Councilmember Vazquez to serve <br />as the City’s representative to the Southern California Association of Governments
