CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> <br /> <br />RFP No. 22-168 Downtown Santa Ana Clean & Safe Team 3 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I. BACKGROUND <br />Incorporated in 1886, Santa Ana, a Charter City, established a Council-Manager form of <br />government in 1952. The City Council is composed of seven members; the Mayor elected at <br />large and six Council members elected by ward, who appoint the City Manager, City Attorney <br />and Clerk of the Council. The City of Santa Ana (City) is a full -service City with a diverse <br />population of approximately 335,000. <br /> <br />The City’s eleven agencies provide all the traditional municipal services, as well as water utility, <br />library system, 20-acre zoo, City Jail, Police Department, and contracts with the Orange County <br />Fire Authority for provision of fire services. The City employs 1,178 authorized full-time positions <br />and has an annual citywide budget is $646 million, including the General Fund budget of $316 <br />million. <br /> <br />The City of Santa Ana is located 10 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean, 33 miles southeast of <br />Los Angeles and 90 miles north of San Diego. The City, which is the county seat of Orange <br />County, encompasses an area of approximately 27 square miles and is the 11th largest by <br />population in California. <br /> <br />II. PRE-PROPOSAL MEETING AND JOB WALK <br />An optional pre-proposal meeting will be held on the date and time specified on the cover page <br />of this RFP. <br /> <br />Location of meeting: Corner of 4th Street and French Street <br /> Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br /> <br />Note: A nearby parking structure is available at 300 E. 5th Street, Santa Ana, CA 92701. <br />Parking is free on Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM. The City is not responsible <br />nor shall it reimburse proposers for any fees associated with parking. <br /> <br />III. OVERVIEW OF PROJECT <br />The City of Santa Ana (City) is seeking proposals from qualified contractors (Proposers) to provide <br />a variety of cleaning/janitorial and security oversight services for Downtown Santa Ana as <br />described in Section IV Scope of Services. <br /> <br />The term “Vendor”, “Proposer”, and “Contractor” shall refer to any legal entity or entities <br />submitting a proposal in response to this Request for Proposals (RFP). <br /> <br />IV. SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />SEE EXHIBIT 1 – SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br /> Usage is not guaranteed. Execution of an agreement between the City and successful firm(s) <br />and/or individual(s) does not guarantee work throughout the duration of the contract period. <br />Numerous factors will be evaluated by the City in its delivery of project and assignments, <br />including technical expertise required. <br /> <br />EXHIBIT 1
