Amendment to Agreement with Axon Enterprise, Inc. for Interview Room Camera System <br />February 7, 2023 <br />Page 2 <br />3 <br />2 <br />3 <br />2 <br />provides a cloud-based solution called Axon Interview for interview room <br />recording. Axon Interview is a touch screen interface and camera system that will <br />enhance police personnel’s ability to conduct interviews more efficiently. The <br />integration with the existing Axon network will provide: <br />•Continued transparency; <br />•Enhance community trust; <br />•Overtime cost savings with Dictation Assistant; <br />•Immediate sharing capabilities; <br />•Streamlining of court and evidence process. <br />Santa Ana Ordinance No. NS-2312 authorizes the City to utilize purchase contracts for <br />any public agency utilizing a competitive bid process. Sourcewell (formerly National <br />Joint Powers Alliance) awarded a contract to Axon Enterprise (Contract No. 010720- <br />AXN) for procurement of public safety video surveillance, including Axon Interview, as a <br />result of open competitive bidding on behalf of its members, which includes government <br />agencies. Utilizing this contract allows the City to proceed with Axon for the interview <br />room equipment and services and is in accordance with the City’s existing Purchasing <br />Guidelines. <br />The Police Department proposes to amend the current master services agreement with <br />Axon beginning June 1, 2023 and ending June 30, 2027 for a four-year period in an <br />amount not to exceed $376,379.
