January 26th, 2022
City of Santa Ana
Attention: Craig Foster, NPDES Manager
20 Civic Center Plaza (M-22)
Santa Ana, California 92701
RE: Letter of Support for City of Santa Ana King Street Urban Greening
Project
Dear Mr. Foster,
We understand the City of Santa Ana (CO) is seeking Caltrans grant funding for the
King Street Urban Greening Project (Project). The Project area is currently a vacant and
unused public space on King Street, between loth Street and Fairview Street. The
Project will convert paved impervious area into a pervious green space with storm
water capture features, drought tolerant planting, seating, signage, waste receptacles,
pedestrian and bicycle pathways, and lighting. The Project will clean up, beautify, and
improve public safety at and around the Project area. Because the Project area is not
used for anything at this time, trash accumulates and the area can attract unwanted
activities. Lighting the area and creating a more inviting urban green space will bring
significant benefits to the community, enhance safety, and increase property values.
The Villas De Rosa Homeowners Association supports the Project and the City's efforts
to beautify Santa Ana, improve water quality, and enhance safety. The Project takes
steps towards meeting important water quality goals, increasing urban green space,
reducing trash, and addressing climate change.
If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact us at (714)
791-3772 or Loann@keystonedcs.com.
Respectfully submitted,
Loan Nguyen
Manager
Villas De Rosa Homeowners Association
