To Increase The Total <br />Agreement Amount by $700,000 (Project No. 22-1402) Not to Exceed $1,966,568 for <br />Hardscape Pavement Cleaning and Infectious Waste Removal Services for the <br />Remaining Term of the Agreement (General Fund) (Revive Santa Ana Program) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize the City Manager to execute the first amendment to the agreement with <br />Superior Property Services, Inc. to increase the total compensation amount by $700,000 <br />for a total agreement amount not to exceed $1,966,568, for the remainder of the <br />agreement term expiring June 30, 2026, subject to non -substantive changes approved by <br />the City Manager and the City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Agency's Parks, Fleet, and Facilities Division maintains the Santa Ana <br />Civic Center as part of the Civic Center Joints Power Authority with the County of Orange. <br />On January 24, 2022, Parks, Recreation and Community Services issued a Request for <br />Proposal (RFP) for hardscape pavement cleaning and infectious waste removal services. <br />As a result, on May 17, 2022, Superior Property Services, Inc. was awarded an <br />agreement from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2026. <br />On August 2, 2022, the City Council approved the Revive Santa Ana Spending Plan that <br />reflected the entire American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) allocation of local fiscal recovery <br />funds. A $700,000 in cost savings was subsequently identified and redirected, by the City <br />Manager's authorization, to the COVID-19 Sanitization project. Staff is finding an <br />increasing need for cleaning and sanitization at high -traffic pedestrian and bicyclist areas <br />throughout the City. Due to the prompt and excellent services already provided by <br />Superior Property Services, Inc., staff would like to increase current services to enhance <br />public health and safety. <br />
