30 <br />workday schedule. <br />K. Payment for Unused Sick Leave. <br />1. Payment criteria and limitations. <br />Upon non-disciplinary termination of employment after ten (10) years of <br />cumulative full-time service with the City, each qualified employee shall <br />be entitled to the following cash out provisions below: <br />a. After ten (10) years, but less than fifteen (15) years of service, the <br />employee shall be entitled to fifty percent (50%) of the amount of <br />unused sick leave benefits credited to their RHS account upon the <br />effective date of separation, not to exceed a maximum limit of six <br />hundred forty (640) hours. <br />b. After fifteen (15) years, but less than twenty (20) years of service, the <br />employee shall be entitled to fifty percent (50%) of unused sick leave <br />benefits credited to their RHS account upon the effective date of <br />separation, not to exceed a maximum limit of eight hundred (800) <br />hours. <br />c. After twenty (20) years, but less than twenty-five (25) years of service, <br />the employee shall be entitled to sixty-six and sixty-seven hundredths <br />percent (66.67%) of unused sick leave benefits credited to their RHS <br />account upon the effective date of separation, not to exceed a <br />maximum limit of one thousand sixty-seven (1,067) hours. <br />d. After twenty-five (25) years of service or more, the employee shall be <br />entitled to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of unused sick <br />leave benefits credited to their RHS account upon the effective date of <br />separation, not to exceed a maximum limit of two thousand (2,000) <br />hours. <br />2. A lump sum payment shall be made to the beneficiaries of any eligible <br />employee whose death occurs while such employee is an active employee <br />of the City, such payment to be in the amount of two-thirds (2/3) of the <br />total sick leave benefit credited to the employee’s account at the time of <br />their death, and at the rate of pay effective on the date of the death. <br />3. Association members who notify the City, in writing, of their intent to <br />retire from the City within twelve (12) calendar months shall be allowed to <br />cash out any and all eligible leave bank balances, including sick leave, <br />upon request. Employees shall receive payment as soon as practical, and <br />no longer than thirty (30) days after the request has been made. If an
