FREE RECORDING PURSUANT TO <br />GOVERNMENT CODE § 27383 <br />Resolution No. 2022-XXX <br />Page 1 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2022-XXX <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION APPLICATION <br />NO. 2022-13 TO PLACE THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT <br />2405 BONNIE BRAE, SANTA ANA, ON THE HISTORICAL <br />REGISTER AND APPROVING HISTORIC REGISTER <br />CATEGORIZATION NO. 2022-6 PLACING SAID <br />PROPERTY WITHIN THE KEY CATEGORY <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana <br />hereby finds, determines, and declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. On July 7, 2022, the Historic Resources Commission held a duly noticed <br />public hearing for the placement on the Santa Ana Register of Historical <br />Properties (Historic Resources Commission Application No. 2022-13) and <br />categorization (Historic Resources Commission Categorization No. 2022- <br />6) of the Gibbs-Wasley House located at 2405 Bonnie Brae, Santa Ana. <br />B. At the public hearing, the Historic Resources Commission discussed the <br />applicant’s request and voted to continue the item to the next regular <br />Historic Resources Commission meeting, to allow the HRC time to ensure <br />that ongoing construction on the site was in keeping with the approval of <br />Historic Exterior Modification Application (HEMA) No. 2021 -03, approved <br />by Historic Resources Commission on July 1, 2021. <br />C. On September 8, 2022, the Historic Resources Commission held the duly <br />noticed continued public hearing for the placement on the Santa Ana <br />Register of Historical Properties (Historic Resources Commission <br />Application No. 2022-13) and categorization (Historic Resources <br />Commission Categorization No. 2022-6) of the Gibbs-Wasley House <br />located at 2405 Bonnie Brae, Santa Ana. <br />D. The Gibbs-Wasley House has distinctive architectural features of the <br />Tudor Revival style and was built in 1928. <br />E. The Gibbs-Wasley House qualifies for listing in the Santa Ana Re gister of <br />Historical Properties under Criterion 1 as an example of the Tudor Revival <br />style in Santa Ana. Additionally, the house has been categorized as “Key” <br />because it has a distinctive architectural style and quality as an example <br />of the Tudor Revival style in Santa Ana. Character-defining features of the <br />house include, but are not limited to: asymmetrical massing and <br />composition; a steeply pitched, complex gable roof; a combination of brick <br />and stucco exterior walls; and multiple tall, brick attached ch imneys. <br />  <br />Historic Resources Commission 1 – 6 9/8/2022 <br />
