Public Works Agency <br />www.santa-ana.org/pw <br />Item # 37 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br />Staff Report <br />June 21, 2022 <br />TOPIC: Construction Management and Inspection Services for Well 32 Rehabilitation <br />AGENDA TITLE <br />Approve Agreement with Butier Engineering Inc. to Provide Construction Management <br />and Inspection Services for the Well 32 Rehabilitation Improvements Project in an <br />Amount Not to Exceed $1,224,820 for a Three -Year Term (Project No. 13-6433) (Non - <br />General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with Butier Engineering Inc. to <br />perform construction management and inspection services for the Well 32 Rehabilitation <br />Improvements project in the amount of $1,024,820, with a contingency of $200,000, for a <br />total amount of $1,224,820, for a three-year term beginning June 21, 2022 and expiring <br />June 20, 2025, with an option for two, one-year extensions, subject non -substantive <br />changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The City of Santa Ana Public Works Agency (City) desires to enter into an agreement <br />with a qualified consulting firm to provide construction management and inspection <br />services for the Well 32 Rehabilitation Improvements project located at 2801 North <br />Westwood Ave. (Exhibit 1). The project consists of replacing the existing well pump and <br />constructing an above ground well building, a water disinfection building, and <br />approximately 3,250 linear feet of new pipeline. <br />The consultant shall provide general construction management services to support <br />construction efforts and will assist in the overall delivery of this project, including pre - <br />construction tasks, managing construction, ensuring that work is completed in <br />accordance with the contract documents, and assisting with project closeout and the <br />commissioning phase. The consultant team will report directly to the City's project <br />manager. <br />On March 22, 2022, the Public Works Agency released Request for Proposal (RFP) No. <br />22-051, by which it sought the services of a qualified consulting firm to provide <br />construction management and inspection services. The RFP was advertised on the City's <br />online procurement management and publication system, with proposals due on April 22, <br />
