Public Works Agency <br />www.santa-ana.org/pw <br />Item # 48 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br />Staff Report <br />June 21, 2022 <br />TOPIC: Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center — Lease Agreement <br />AGENDA TITLE <br />Approve a Lease Agreement with Walsh Construction Company II, LLC for Office Space <br />at the Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center for up to a Two-year Period for a <br />Revenue Amount up to $265,601 <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize the City Manager to execute a site lease agreement with Walsh Construction <br />Company II, LLC for the rental of office space at the Santa Ana Regional Transportation <br />Center, beginning June 21, 2022 and ending June 20, 2024, at a monthly rate of $11,073, <br />for a revenue amount up to $265,601 for the term of the agreement, subject to non - <br />substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The OC Streetcar is the first modern streetcar project to be built in Orange County and <br />will service Santa Ana's historic downtown, which includes federal, state, and local <br />courthouses; government offices; colleges; an artists' village; and a thriving restaurant <br />scene. The OC Streetcar will operate along a 4.15-mile route that connects the Santa <br />Ana Regional Transportation Center (SARTC) and a new transit hub at Harbor Boulevard <br />and Westminster Avenue in Garden Grove. OCTA is the lead agency for the OC Streetcar <br />Project. <br />OCTA selected Walsh Construction as the Contractor for the project. On December 18, <br />2018, the City Council approved a site lease agreement with Walsh Construction <br />Company II, LLC to lease office space at SARTC. The lease expired on December 18, <br />2021 and Walsh Company II, LLC continued leasing the space on a monthly -to -month <br />basis. The firm approached the City requesting to continue leasing space at SARTC for <br />the duration of the OC Streetcar Project. Staff requests approval of the lease agreement <br />to continue providing office space to Walsh Construction Company II, LLC for the next <br />two years. The lease will generate revenue for the SARTC day-to-day operations. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />There is no environmental impact associated with this action. <br />
