Public Works Agency <br />www.santa-ana.org/pw <br />Item # 49 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br />Staff Report <br />June 21, 2022 <br />TOPIC: Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center — Lease Agreement <br />AGENDA TITLE <br />Approve a Lease Agreement with PGH Wong Engineering, Inc. for Office Space at the <br />Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center for a Two-year Period for a Revenue Amount <br />of $196,929 (Non -General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize the City Manager to execute a site lease agreement with PGH Wong <br />Engineering, Inc., for the rental of office space at the Santa Ana Regional Transportation <br />Center, beginning June 22, 2022 and ending June 21, 2024, at a monthly rate of $8,210, <br />for a revenue amount of $196,929 for the term of the agreement, subject to non - <br />substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The OC Streetcar is the first modern streetcar project to be built in Orange County and <br />will service Santa Ana's historic downtown, which includes federal, state, and local <br />courthouses; government offices; colleges; an artists' village; and a thriving restaurant <br />scene. The OC Streetcar will operate along a 4.15-mile route that connects the Santa <br />Ana Regional Transportation Center (SARTC) and a new transit hub at Harbor Boulevard <br />and Westminster Avenue in Garden Grove. OCTA is the lead agency for the OC Streetcar <br />Project. <br />OCTA selected PGH Wong Engineering, Inc. as the Construction Manager Consultant <br />for the project. On December 18, 2018, the City Council approved a site lease agreement <br />with PGH Wong Engineering, Inc. to lease office space at SARTC. The lease expired on <br />December 18, 2021. PGH Wong Engineering, Inc. approached the City requesting to <br />continue leasing space at SARTC for the duration of the OC Streetcar Project. Staff <br />requests approval of the lease agreement to continue providing office space to PGH <br />Wong Engineering, Inc. for the next two years. The lease will generate revenue for the <br />SARTC day-to-day operations. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />There is no environmental impact associated with this action. <br />
