Public Works Agency <br />www.santa-ana.org/pw <br />Item # 18 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br /> Staff Report <br />May 17, 2022 <br />TOPIC: Purchase of Ford Super Duty F-550 Stake Bed Trucks <br />AGENDA TITLE <br />Award a Purchase Order to Western Truck Exchange for Two Ford Super Duty F-550 <br />Stake Bed Trucks for the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency in the <br />Amount of $211,278 (Specification No. 22-034) (General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize a one-time purchase and payment of purchase order to Western Truck <br />Exchange for the purchase of two Ford Super Duty F-550 Stake Bed Trucks for the Parks, <br />Recreation and Community Services Agency in the amount of $211,278 plus a <br />contingency of $20,000, for a total amount not to exceed $231,278, subject to non- <br />substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Agency’s Fleet Services Division is responsible for the acquisition, <br />maintenance, repair, and replacement of vehicles, trucks, and maintenance equipment. <br />The Fleet Services Division seeks to purchase two stake bed trucks for Parks, Recreation <br />and Community Services Agency to replace 2002 and 2003 model stake bed trucks used <br />to support the Quality of Life Team. <br />The Notice Inviting Bids for the trucks was advertised on February 25, 2022, on the City’s <br />online bid management and publication system. A summary of the bid invitation and bids <br />received is as follows: <br />253 Vendors were notified <br />28 Santa Ana vendors were notified <br />10 Vendors downloaded the bid packet <br />1 Bid received <br />0 Bids received from Santa Ana vendors <br />One bid was received from Western Truck Exchange, which is located in Los Angeles, <br />CA. The bid was opened on March 17, 2022, deemed to be responsive to the <br />specifications, and meets the City’s requirements. As such, staff seeks approval of the <br />purchase from Western Truck Exchange.
