Public Works Agency www.santa-ana.org/pw Item # 19 City of Santa Ana 20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 Staff Report May 17, 2022 TOPIC: Purchase of Mini Street Sweeper AGENDA TITLE Award a Purchase Order to Bucher Municipal for One Bucher CityCat V20 Mini Street Sweeper to Sweep Bike Lanes, in the Amount of $200,175 (Specification No. 22-066) (General and Non-General Fund) RECOMMENDED ACTION Authorize a one-time purchase and payment of purchase order to Bucher Municipal for the purchase of one Bucher CityCat V20 Mini Street Sweeper to sweep bike lanes in the amount of $185,175, plus a contingency of $15,000, for a total amount not to exceed $200,175, subject to non-substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. DISCUSSION The Public Works Agency’s Fleet Services Division is responsible for the acquisition, maintenance, repair, and replacement of vehicles, trucks, and maintenance equipment. The Fleet Services Division seeks to purchase a compact street sweeper (Exhibit 1) for the Maintenance Services Division, which maintains the City’s roadways. Due to the narrow width of bike lanes and other areas within the public right–of–way, a smaller-sized street sweeper is needed to efficiently clean these areas. Santa Ana Ordinance No. NS-2312 authorizes the City to utilize purchase contracts from any public agency utilizing a competitive bid process to source equipment. Sourcewell awarded a contract to Bucher Municipal (Contract No. 093021-BUC) for Street Sweepers and Specialty Sweepers, with Related Equipment, Accessories, and Supplies as a result of open competitive bidding on behalf of its members, which include government agencies. Utilizing the contract awarded to Bucher Municipal allows the City to make purchases through November 16, 2025, and is in accordance with the City’s existing Purchasing Guidelines. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT There is no environmental impact associated with the action.
