Public Works Agency <br />www.santa-ana.org/pw <br />Item # 29 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br />Staff Report <br />May 17, 2022 <br />TOPIC: On -Call Chain Link Fencing Services <br />AGENDA TITLE <br />Approve Agreements with Quality Fence Co., Inc. and United Site Services of California, <br />Inc. for On -Call Chain Link Fencing Services in an Amount Not to Exceed $300,000 for a <br />Three -Year Term (Non -General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with Quality Fence Co., Inc. and <br />United Site Services, Inc. for on -call chain link fencing services, in a shared aggregate <br />amount not to exceed $300,000 for a three-year term beginning May 17, 2022 and <br />expiring May 16, 2025, with an option for two, one-year extensions, subject non - <br />substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The City currently owns and is responsible for maintaining a number of vacant lots <br />associated with capital enhancement projects and right-of-way acquisitions. On October <br />14, 2021, the Public Works Agency released Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 21-123, <br />by which it sought the services of a qualified firm to provide chain link fencing at these <br />vacant sites on an as -needed or "on -call" basis for the City of Santa Ana Public Works <br />Agency. The fencing is needed to secure these sites in locations experiencing frequent <br />trespassing or pending demolition. <br />The RFP was advertised on the City's online procurement management and publication <br />system, with proposals due on November 8, 2021. Five proposals were received and <br />evaluated by a selection committee.
