DISCUSSION At the April 19, 2022 meeting, the City Council adopted a resolution to establish a standing subcommittee, the Joint School Collaboration City Council Subcommittee with the Santa Ana Unified School District (“SAUSD”). The purpose of the Joint School Collaboration City Council Standing Subcommittee is to discuss issues of mutual interest between the City and SAUSD, focusing on youth services. Topics include joint use of SAUSD and City facilities, library facilities, and educational programs, among others. The Subcommittee will create and approve its own by-laws that will provide further detail relating to its scope of work of advising the City Council. Provisions of these by-laws will include, among other parameters, a recurring meeting schedule. Make-Up of the Subcommittee The Joint School Collaboration City Council Standing Subcommittee will consist of representatives from the City Council and the SAUSD Governing Board as follows: Two or three members of the City Council will be appointed by a majority of the entire City Council at a public meeting. Up to two members of the SAUSD Governing Board will be appointed by a majority of the entire SAUSD Governing Board at a public meeting.
