Require that Ensure <br />all new development effectively integrates parks, open space, and provide <br />adequate parks and open space, including via parkland dedication or <br />development fees, in order to meet the City's park standard. Ensure that new <br />development includes pedestrian and multi- modal travelways to promote a <br />quality living environment. For new development within park deficient and <br />environmental justice areas, prioritize the creation and dedication of new <br />public parkland over the collection of impact fees. <br />Recommended Policy Change: OS-1.9: New Development. Require all new development to provide <br />adequate parks and open space, including via parkland dedication or development fees, in order to <br />meet the City's park standard. Ensure that new development includes pedestrian and multi- modal <br />travelways to promote a quality living environment. Development fees. Evaluate the fees required <br />by Update the City's Acquisition and Development Ordinance and adjust them <br />to better reflect current costs and needs. Update to increase the parkland <br />dedication requirements regarding where fees are spent for new <br />development projects consistent with the dedication requirements specified <br />in Implementation Action OS-1.7. Require that fees collected in place of <br />parkland dedication for specific development pro jects be utilized to acquire, <br />expand, or improve facilities within 0.5 miles walking distance from the <br />project for which the fee was collected. <br />Recommended Action Change: OS-1.6: Development Fees. Update the City's Acquisition and <br />Development Ordinance to increase the parkland dedication requirements to meet 3 acres of <br />parkland per 1,000 residents.
