This training, provided to our security officers in the field, enables <br />those officers to successfully de-escalate situations, and thus prevents the need for use of force or police <br />intervention. The AVADE training program is an integral piece <br />of an effective workplace violence plan. It teaches officers key <br />topics, including: <br />• How to recognize the assault cycle <br />• How to legally defend yourself and others <br />• How to survive an active shooter situation <br />• How to create long lasting personal safety habits <br />• How to avoid being a victim of crime and violence <br />• How to create long lasting personal safety habits <br />MOAB training presents principles, techniques, and skills for recognizing, reducing, and managing <br />violent and aggressive behavior. The program also provides humane and compassionate methods of <br />dealing with aggressive people both in and out of the workplace. It teaches officers how to create a win- <br />win situation in difficult confrontations and resolve conflicts decisively and diplomatically with verbal <br />and non-verbal communication skills, as well as with personal defense and safety skills. <br />Mental Health Training <br />Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that gives people the skills to help someone who is <br />developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The evidence behind the <br />program demonstrates that it does build mental health literacy, helping the public identify, understand, <br />and respond to signs of mental illness. Our training manager is a certified trainer for this course. Just as <br />CPR training helps a person with no clinical training assist an individual following a heart attack, Mental <br />Health First Aid training helps a person assist someone experiencing a mental health crisis such as <br />Exhibit 1
