Public Works Agency <br />www.santa-ana.org/pw <br />Item # 16 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br /> Staff Report <br />March 15, 2022 <br />TOPIC: Purchase of Truck for Public Works Street Lighting Maintenance <br />AGENDA TITLE: <br />Award a Purchase Order in the Amount of $62,679 to Penske Chevrolet of Cerritos for <br />One Chevrolet 2500 HD Truck (Specification No. 22-003) (Non-General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize a one-time purchase and payment of purchase order to Penske Chevrolet of <br />Cerritos for one Chevrolet 2500 HD Truck, in the amount of $62,679 plus a contingency <br />of $5,000, for a total amount not to exceed $67,679, subject to non-substantive changes <br />approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Agency’s Fleet Services Division is responsible for the acquisition, <br />maintenance, repair, and replacement of vehicles, trucks, and maintenance equipment. <br />The Public Works Agency’s street lighting operation recently hired a street lighting <br />maintenance worker and the division is in need of a vehicle in order for the technician to <br />conduct daily inspections and repairs on the street lighting system. Furthermore, the <br />vehicle will be crucial and heavily used in responding to street light outages and in <br />maintaining the street lighting system. <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on December 17, 2021, on the City’s online bid <br />management and publication system.
