19 <br /> <br />Solid W aste Request for Proposal (RFP) and will be implemented upon contract <br />award in July 2022. <br /> The City’s Emergency Operations and Management staff continues to seek <br />financial support for emergency management programs from applicable Federal <br />and State sources such as hazardous materials transport user fees authorized by <br />the Federal government. <br /> Continue Water Quality Management Plan (WQMP) review for new and significant <br />redevelopment projects throughout the City to limit disturbance of natural water <br />bodies and drainage systems, conserve natural areas, protect slopes and <br />channels, and minimize impacts from stormwater and urban runoff on the <br />biological integrity of water bodies. In FY 20 20/2021, the City cleaned <br />approximately eleven (11) miles of stormwater channels and 1,587 stormwater <br />catch basins to remove approximately 64 tons of trash, debris, and sediment from <br />the stormdrain system. <br /> Require development within the 100-year flood zone to implement mitigation <br />measures to minimize risks associated with flood hazards. PBA <br /> Collect, maintain, and make available information regarding flooding hazards to <br />remain aware of potential hazards and serve as an educational resource for the <br />community. <br /> <br />14. Scenic Corridors Element <br />Scenic corridors are linear features of the City through which people and vehicles <br />move. They include streets, highways and waterways, with their associated <br />pedestrian ways and bike trails. This element of the General Plan is designed to <br />identify Santa Ana’s scenic corridors and promoting them for spec ial treatment and <br />improvements. <br /> <br /> The City has two public realm plans were to promote aesthetic, walkable corridors <br />envisioned for new mixed-use residential development. These were prepared in <br />2020 through a sustainability grant by the Southern California Association of <br />Governments (SCAG) for the Metro East Mixed Use Overlay located along the <br />First Street Scenic Corridor, and Harbor Boulevard Mixed Use Transit Corridor <br />Specific Plan along the Harbor Boulevard Scenic Corridor. <br /> <br /> In 2021, “green street” Best Management Practices (BMPs) to treat stormwater <br />runoff from public roadways continue to be referenced in the Metro East and <br />Harbor Boulevard Draft Public Realm Plans. Additionally, the City began <br />construction on the Santa Ana Boulevard and Fifth Street Pr otected Bike Lanes <br />Project, the Civic Center Bike Boulevard Project, and the Bristol Street Protected <br />Bike Lanes Project (Edinger Ave to 1st St), all of which include green street BMPs <br />to treat stormwater runoff. The City will continue to prioritize the im plementation of <br />green street BMPs on large-scale street improvement projects in the future. <br />
