FREE RECORDING PURSUANT TO <br />GOVERNMENT CODE § 27383 <br />Resolution No. 2021-XXX <br />Page 1 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2021-XXX <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION APPLICATION <br />NO. 2021-20 TO PLACE THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT <br />2383 NORTH FLOWER STREET, SANTA ANA, ON THE <br />HISTORICAL REGISTER AND APPROVING HISTORIC <br />REGISTER CATEGORIZATION NO. 2021-20 PLACING <br />SAID PROPERTY WITHIN THE CONTRIBUTIVE <br />CATEGORY <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana <br />hereby finds, determines, and declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. On November 4, 2021, the Historic Resources Commission held a duly <br />noticed public hearing for the placement on the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Properties (Historic Resources Commission Application No. <br />2021-20) and categorization (Historic Resources Commission <br />Categorization No. 2021-20) of the Head-Wimpey House located at 2383 <br />North Flower Street, Santa Ana. <br />B. The Head-Wimpey House has distinctive architectural features of the <br />Tudor Revival style and was built in 1935. <br />C. The Head-Wimpey House qualifies for listing in the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Properties under Criterion 1 as an intact example of a Tudor <br />Revival tract home in Santa Ana. Characteristics of the Tudor Revival <br />include steeply pitched complex gable roofs, shallow roof overhangs, <br />asymmetrical massing, stucco exterior and multipaned windows. <br />Additionally, the house has been categorized as “Contributive” because it <br />“contributes to the overall character and history” of the Floral Park <br />neighborhood and “is a good example of period architecture,” representing <br />the Tudor Revival style in Santa Ana. Character-defining features of the <br />house include a complex gable and wing roof of moderately steep pitch; <br />shallow roof overhangs, roof detailing such as wooden bargeboards and <br />exposed rafter tails; multi-paned wood casement windows used on the <br />primary elevation; double-hung wood windows where extant; and hand- <br />troweled textured stucco exterior walls. <br />D. The legal owners of the property are Caroline La and Colin Donnelly. <br />E.
