Brey Electric, Inc. for <br />On -Call Electrical Repair and Rehabilitation Services, for a Total Amount Not to Exceed <br />$6,000,000 for up to a Five -Year Term (Non -General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize the City Manager to execute agreements with Inter -Pacific, LEED Electric, Inc., <br />and M. Brey Electric, Inc. to provide on -call electrical repair and rehabilitation services, <br />for a three-year period beginning February 15, 2022 and expiring February 14, 2025, with <br />provisions for one, two-year renewal period exercisable by the City Manager and City <br />Attorney, with a shared aggregate amount not to exceed of $6,000,000, subject to non - <br />substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Agency's Water Resources Division oversees and maintains the daily <br />operations of the City's water and sanitary sewer systems. The water system is composed <br />of approximately 480 miles of water main, 21 groundwater wells, seven pump stations, <br />10 reservoirs with a storage capacity of 49 million gallons, four pressure regulating <br />stations, and seven connection points to Metropolitan Water District. The system has an <br />average daily demand of 30 million gallons from its roughly 45,000 service connections. <br />The City's water system heavily relies on complex electrical systems to operate the <br />various reservoir stations, well sites, lift stations, interconnections, pressure -reducing <br />valves, and the facilities that house them. Licensed electricians with specialized <br />knowledge in these systems are needed to perform regular maintenance, installation, <br />repair, and replacement to ensure machinery is operating efficiently and effectively. <br />On October 14, 2021, the Public Works Agency issued Request for Proposals (RFP) 21- <br />122 for on -call electrical repair and rehabilitation services. The RFP was advertised on <br />the City's online bid management and publication system with bids due on November 16, <br />2021. Forty-one vendors were notified and 39 vendors downloaded proposal files. Four <br />proposals were received and evaluated by a selection committee. Based on the criteria <br />
