The original construction delivery cost of <br />$594,210.50 left a balance of $605,789.50 available for these additional concrete <br />improvements to be delivered. Furthermore, on January 18, 2022, during the General <br />Fund First Quarter Budget Update presentation, City Council authorized a one-time <br />spending plan to address ongoing issues and to improve service levels for the public. As <br />a result, the sidewalk improvement program was allocated an additional $500,000 for FY <br />2021-22 and $1,000,000 annually in future funding. CJ Concrete Construction, Inc. has <br />demonstrated a high level of professionalism and commitment to quality work as part of <br />this contract. To deliver these additional concrete improvements promptly and capitalize <br />on the favorable pricing of the existing contract with CJ Concrete Construction, Inc., staff <br />recommends increasing the project contingencies by $1,105,789.50 for a new estimated <br />project delivery cost of $1,700,000 (Exhibit 2). <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act, the recommended actions <br />are exempt from further review. Categorical Exemption Environmental Review No. ER- <br />2021-99 was filed for the project. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />As indicated in the revised Cost Analysis, the estimated total construction delivery cost of <br />the project is $1,700,000. Funds for this project were approved and appropriated in FY <br />2021-22 in the amount of $1,200,000.
