Community Development Agency <br />www.santa-ana.org/cd <br />Item # 13 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br /> Staff Report <br />January 18, 2022 <br />TOPIC: Appropriation Adjustment Recognizing National Dislocated Worker Grant Funds <br />AGENDA TITLE: <br />Approve Appropriation Adjustment Recognizing Additional National Dislocated Worker <br />Grant – Employment Recovery Funds to Provide Employment Training and Support <br />Services to Individuals Impacted by the Pandemic (Non-General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Approve an appropriation adjustment recognizing additional National Dislocated Worker <br />Grant, Employment Recovery funds from the State of California, Employment <br />Development Department to provide re-employment and training services to individuals <br />impacted by COVID-19 in the amount of $160,000 in revenue account (no. 12318002- <br />52009) and appropriating same to expenditure account (nos. 12318762-various). <br />(Requires five affirmative votes) <br />DISCUSSION <br />The City has received an additional $160,000 in National Dislocated Worker Grant <br />(NDWG), Employment Recovery funds to serve an additional 40 individuals for a total of <br />80 participants. The City received an initial award of $160,000 in Fiscal Year 2020-21, <br />which has been fully expended. These additional funds have been received by the City <br />through a modification of the PY 2020-21 subgrant agreement. <br />Ten percent of these funds will be used for administrative costs and the remaining amount <br />will be used to provide dislocated workers with employment and training services and <br />assist them in obtaining full-time employment. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Approval of the appropriation adjustments will recognize $160,000 into Workforce <br />Innovation and Opportunity Act Federal Grant-Indirect revenue account (no. 12318002- <br />52009) and appropriate the same amount to expenditure account (no. 12318762-various) <br />for expenditure in FY 21-22.
