Conceptual Design Services for Dog Park Project <br />December 7, 2021 <br />Page 2 <br />2 <br />3 <br />1 <br />4 <br />The RFP was advertised on the City’s online procurement management and publication <br />system, with Proposals due on October 21, 2021. Eight proposals were received and <br />evaluated by a selection committee. Based on criteria outlined in the RFP, the following <br />summarizes the top three responding firms and their ranking: <br />Firm City Rank <br />David Volz Design Landscape Architecture, Inc.Costa Mesa 1 <br />RJM Design Group San Juan Capistrano 2 <br />Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc.Orange 3 <br />Staff recommends awarding an agreement (Exhibit 2) to David Volz Design Landscape <br />Architecture, Inc. to provide full concept design services based upon the scope of work <br />and selection criteria outlined in RFP 21-119. Their proposal demonstrated the firm has <br />the necessary capacity and expertise to complete the required services. The firm’s rates <br />are reasonable and within industry standard, the team qualifications are appropriate for <br />this project, and the proposal was determined to provide the best value for the City. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />There is no environmental impact associated with this action. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds are available in the following account for the current fiscal year. As part of the <br />citywide carry forward process, PRCSA will submit to the Finance Department a request <br />for any project balance to be carried forward into subsequent fiscal years, which will be <br />compiled with requests from other departments and presented to the City Council. <br /> <br />EXHIBIT(S) <br />1.
