Public Hearing -Downtown BID <br />Community Development Agency <br />12/7/21Slide 3 <br />What is the Downtown BID? <br />•A type of special assessment for a specific area or district. <br />•Revenues can be used to improve and promote the <br />business district. <br />•Business owners within the district voted to establish the <br />BID (1984) . <br />•Annual assessments are collected from each business. <br />•Over 500 businesses are assessed in the district. <br />•Two downtown business organizations manage the BID: <br />–Downtown Inc. <br />–Santa Ana Business Council
