<br />Resolution No. 2021-XXX <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2017-XXX <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA ESTABLISHING THE SCHOOL <br />COLLABORATION CITY COUNCIL SUBCOMMITTEE <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. The City Council hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br />A. By resolutions approved in the past, the City Council had created City Council <br />subcommittees for the purpose of focusing greater City Council attention on <br />key priorities coming before the City Council in the future. <br />B. Most recently, on February 21, 2017, the City Council adopted a resolution <br />(Resolution No. 2017-009) to establish the following four City Council <br />subcommittees: Community Services (and Joint Santa Ana Unified School <br />District and City Council); Economic Development, Infrastructure, Budget and <br />Technology; Legislative Affairs, Ethics, Transparency and Communications; <br />and Public Safety, Code Enforcement and Neighborhood Empowerment <br />Committee. <br />C. On February 4, 2020, the City Council directed to disband all City Council <br />subcommittees. <br />D. On March 2, 2021 the Mayor appointed several councilmembers to ad hoc <br />committees to discuss discrete policy issues. One of these ad hoc <br />committees was the School Collaboration Ad Hoc Committee. <br />E. On August 27, 2021, the School Collaboration Ad Hoc Committee met and <br />recommended that the City Council consider disbanding the School <br />Collaboration Ad Hoc Committee and establishing a subcommittee: the <br />School Collaboration City Council Subcommittee. <br />F. The City Council seeks to establish the School Collaboration City Council <br />Subcommittee. <br />SECTION 2. From and after the date hereof, there shall be a School <br />Collaboration City Council Subcommittee. The purpose of the School Collaboration City <br />Council Subcommittee is to discuss creating opportunities to collaborate with <br />educational institutions that serve Santa Ana, including public school districts (such as <br />the Santa Ana Unified School District, Garden Grove Unified School Districts, and <br />others), private schools, charter schools, higher education institutions, and others to
