1.9 Compressor, compressor control panel, and related equipment shall be mounted on a <br />common, enclosed, and lockable, skid. <br />2.1 The compressor shall be furnished with the vendor's standard enclosure. If standard <br />enclosure will result in observed noise levels exceeding 80 dBA at ten feet from the unit, <br />vendor shall provide anticipated sound levels with their standard enclosure and also quote, <br />as an option, a sound attenuating enclosure to reduce the anticipated sound levels to below 80 <br />dBA. <br />2.2 All materials shall be non-combustible, or fire rated. <br />2.3 Exposed hot surfaces shall have guards or covers for personnel protection in accordance <br />with OSHA and Cal -OSHA requirements. <br />2.4 Intercoolers and aftercoolers shall be sized a minimum 20% over capacity to compensate for <br />fouling. The final discharge temperature shall not exceed 20F above the ambient gas <br />temperature, unless approved by the City's Engineer. <br />2.5 Suction and discharge pulsation dampeners shall be provided. <br />2.6 Electric Motors <br />A. Acceptable Manufacturers: <br />1. <br />Baldor <br />2. <br />U.S. Motors <br />3. <br />Leeson <br />4. <br />WEG <br />5. <br />Or approved equal <br />B. Electric motors shall be totally enclosed fan cooled (TEFC) or explosion proof as <br />required for Class I, Division 2, Group D per NEC, and be constant speed, induction <br />type with a minimum service factor of 1.15. <br />C. Motors shall be NEMA premium efficiency type with the highest available efficiency as <br />listed in the latest version of the Motor Master database and verified by the <br />manufacturer. Motor brake horsepower and RPM shall be specified by the vendor. <br />The vendor shall select motor/drive train to provide the minimum compressor and <br />motor life -cycle costs. <br />D. All motors shall be rated for 480 Volt, 3-phase, 60 hertz and rated for continuous <br />duty. <br />E. Solid state motor starters shall be located on the skid in a suitable enclosure.
