<br />Heath is a senior landscape architect within DEA's
<br />land development business unit with more than 25
<br />years of landscape architectural design experience
<br />at all phases of the project delivery process including
<br />schematic design, design development, construction
<br />documentation and construction support. Heath
<br />has worked on a wide variety of projects during his
<br />career including city parks, streetscapes, single family
<br />housing developments, senior living facilities, and
<br />commercial sites. He is also an experienced project
<br />manager having recently managed a similar park
<br />project for the City of Santa Ana.
<br />Mariposa Park, Santa Ana, California
<br />Heath served as project manager for Mariposa Park,
<br />a one -acre neighborhood park in the City of Santa
<br />Ana. The local residents requested that the park
<br />include a playground, a teaching area for active
<br />lifestyle classes and a community garden. The design
<br />includes walkways, playground equipment, a picnic
<br />area, a shade structure, a rock bioswale, California
<br />friendly plants, drip irrigation, low impact development
<br />drainage and lighting. Other amenities including a
<br />park entrance sign, interpretive signage, benches,
<br />picnic tables, pedestrian bridge, bike racks, and
<br />drinking fountain were also provided in the design.
<br />Lagos De Moreno Park, Brea, California
<br />DEA provided design and construction services
<br />for Lagos de Moreno Park in the City of Brea. The
<br />park was built adjacent to an elementary school and
<br />included a playground and fitness equipment. Heath
<br />provided full construction support services during
<br />installation. His duties included submittal/request
<br />for information response, preparing clarification
<br />drawings, coordination of construction activities with
<br />the contractor, coordination with Division of the State
<br />Architect (DSA), client, and on -site observation. Heath
<br />served as the project manager.
<br />Pickleball Courts at Sunrise Park, Palm Springs,
<br />California
<br />DEA prepared conceptual design plans for 16
<br />pickleball courts at Sunrise Park in the City of Palm
<br />Springs. Heath worked closely with City staff to
<br />develop several court layout alternatives which
<br />incorporated existing park features. The designs
<br />also included site furnishings, proposed trees, and
<br />hardscape.
<br />San Sevaine Trail, Phase 1- Segment 2, Fontana,
<br />California
<br />The DEA team is preparing final construction
<br />documents for a 1.25-mile multi -use trail along
<br />the San Sevaine / Etiwanda Creek Channel. The
<br />proposed trail will lie within the San Bernardino
<br />County Flood Control District right-of-way and
<br />connects the Pacific Electric Trail in the City of
<br />Fontana, to Banyan Street in the City of Rancho
<br />Cucamonga. Heath is assisting with the final design
<br />for the trailheads.
<br />Lake Cahuilla Veteran's Memorial, La Quinta,
<br />California
<br />DEA landscape architects provided conceptual design
<br />and final construction documents for a new veteran's
<br />memorial at the main entrance of Lake Cahuilla
<br />Veteran's Regional Park in the city of La Quinta. The
<br />design incorporated flags with a decorative wall,
<br />memorial plaque and time capsule to commemorate
<br />Riverside County veterans of the five -armed service
<br />branches of the US military. An army colonel spoke
<br />at the opening of the memorial. Heath served as the
<br />client contact and project manager.
<br />Bicycle and Pedestrian Trail Landscape and
<br />Irrigation Project, Garden Grove, California
<br />DEA landscape architects provided plans,
<br />specifications and construction administration for the
<br />installation of new trees along an existing one mile
<br />stretch of city bike trail which was previously designed
<br />by DEA civil engineers. Full irrigation design plans
<br />were also provided by DEA irrigation specialists.
<br />Heath served as the client contact and project
<br />manager.
