<br />Monique has six years of landscape design
<br />experience where she has attained practical
<br />knowledge in parks, trails, and transportation projects
<br />including streetscape and interchange design. She
<br />has experience in managing and developing master
<br />plans for office properties, retail properties, and
<br />apartment communities, as well as working on smaller
<br />scaled size projects, such as high -end residences and
<br />commercial developments.
<br />Mariposa Park, Santa Ana, California
<br />Monique provided landscape design services for
<br />Mariposa Park, a new neighborhood park in the City
<br />of Santa Ana. The local residents requested that the
<br />park include a playground, a teaching area for active
<br />lifestyle classes, and a community garden. The design
<br />includes walkways, playground equipment, a picnic
<br />area, a shade structure, a rock bioswale, California
<br />friendly plants (including fruit trees), drip irrigation,
<br />low impact development drainage, lighting, and other
<br />amenities, including a park entrance sign, interpretive
<br />signage, benches, picnic tables, bike racks, and
<br />drinking fountain.
<br />Jackson and Kenner Park, Indio, California
<br />Monique provided landscape design services for
<br />Jackson and Kenner Park in the City of Indio. DEA
<br />prepared conceptual and final construction plans,
<br />and collaborated with the City and the community
<br />to enhance the concepts through community input.
<br />Located at the northwest corner of Jackson Street
<br />and Kenner Avenue, this highly visible two -acre parcel
<br />lends itself to an ideal location for welcoming visitors
<br />and residents alike into the City.
<br />Washington Park Community House, Pasadena,
<br />California
<br />Monique assisted with the design plans for a new
<br />multipurpose building in a historic park in the City of
<br />Pasadena. The exterior spaces around the building
<br />were designed to be used for programing that would
<br />integrate both interior and exterior activities. The DEA
<br />team developed 3D graphics to guide the design
<br />process and enable the project stakeholders to
<br />visualize the project's features. This project required
<br />extensive collaboration with the project's architect
<br />and civil engineer as the site was constrained
<br />and presented several challenges that had to be
<br />overcome to achieve a successful design.
<br />Cathedral City Community Amphitheater,
<br />Cathedral City, California
<br />Monique provided landscape design for a new
<br />outdoor amphitheater and multipurpose urban space
<br />and park that will provide a venue for concerts,
<br />productions, cultural and community events for the
<br />residents of Cathedral City.
<br />San Sevaine Trail, Phase 1 - Segment 2, Fontana,
<br />California
<br />Monique assisted with the conceptual design of three
<br />trail heads for a segment of the San Sevaine Trail.
<br />Monique worked closely with the project engineers
<br />to ensure all regulations were met when working
<br />within or near the Flood Control District areas. Upon
<br />request, Monique researched the design criteria for
<br />trails within Rancho Cucamonga as examples of
<br />design for the San Sevaine Trail. Overall deliverables
<br />included a conceptual plan, proposed site amenities,
<br />and cost estimates.
<br />Lake Cahuilla Veterans Regional Park, La Quinta,
<br />California
<br />Monique assisted with designing a space dedicated
<br />to Veterans from throughout the Coachella Valley. The
<br />design included components such as flags / flagpoles
<br />for all five military branches, personalized plaques for
<br />the dedication of the space, and military seals for all
<br />five military branches. Overall deliverables included
<br />a demolition plan, grading plan, construction plan,
<br />planting plan, irrigation plan, details, specifications,
<br />and cost estimates.
<br />1-15 / Railroad Canyon Road Interchange, Lake
<br />Elsinore, California
<br />Monique provided landscape design for the
<br />conceptual and final design of the 1-15 / Railroad
<br />Canyon Road interchange in the city of Lake Elsinore.
<br />Her efforts included planting and irrigation design
<br />throughout the corridor. The design intent includes
<br />permanent planting in highly visible areas such as
<br />at on and off ramps. Meandering, colorful bands of
<br />planting and decorative hardscape will be installed
<br />during roadway construction. DEA is also responsible
<br />for coordinating the artistic panels which will be
<br />incorporated into the abutment walls. These images
<br />will provide an opportunity to depict the history of the
<br />region. Each panel will be illuminated providing night-
<br />time interest for the travelling public.
