He has experience in conducting Environmental Site <br />Assessments (ESAs) for educational, municipal, industrial, commercial, and residential <br />sites. He has experience preparing workplans to outline investigative activities such as <br />Preliminary Environmental Assessments (PEA), as well as Remedial Action Workplans <br />(RAWs) to outline remediation/mitigation activities. Additionally, he has experience <br />related to the development and implementation of Stormwater Pollution Prevention <br />Plans (SWPPPs). <br />Field experience relating to environmental investigations and remediation includes the <br />collection of soil, soil vapor, ambient air, and groundwater samples, installation of <br />groundwater and soil vapor monitoring wells, remedial extraction and injection wells, <br />preparation of boring logs in accordance with USCS methods, waste stream <br />management, and evaluation of Best Management Practices (BMPs) at construction <br />sites. He also has experience in the design, operation and maintenance of soil vapor and <br />groundwater remediation systems and methane/gas mitigation systems. <br />Project Experience <br />Project experience includes municipal and private clients and various activities at <br />multiple sites. Projects include: <br />• Participated in multiple phases of site assessment and remediation activities for the <br />evaluation, investigation, and remediation of new schools for the LAUSD. Activities <br />included the review of Phase I ESA reports, preparation of PEA scoping documents, <br />conducting soil, soil gas, and groundwater sampling activities, preparation of PEA and <br />Phase II ESA reports and RAWs, oversight of contractor’s remedial activities, and <br />interaction with regulatory agencies. <br />• Multiple assessments were conducted in San Jose for a client related to their <br />purchase of a shopping center. Activities included the collection of soil, soil vapor, <br />groundwater, and indoor air samples to evaluate the site for impacts from past auto <br />repair and dry cleaning activities, as well as conducting a pilot test to evaluate soil vapor <br />extraction (SVE) as a potential remedial technology. Activities necessary to delineate <br />the extent of contamination and develop a cost estimate for necessary remedial <br />activities were completed within the original due-diligence period to allow the client to <br />negotiate an appropriate reduction in the purchase price of the property. <br />Responsibilities included the development of workplans, permitting and coordination <br />with various agencies, oversight of drilling and well installation activities, sample <br />collection, operation of a SVE system, preparation of boring logs, report writing, budget <br />estimating and tracking, and project management. <br />• Collecting soil and soil gas samples from beneath numerous dry cleaning facilities in <br />Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, San Diego, Sacramento, Santa Clara, and Ventura <br />Counties, to evaluate for potential impacts from use of various solvents. Upon <br />identifying impacted soil, he assisted in preparing human health risk assessments, as <br />well as developing and implementing remedial workplans. He oversaw the installation <br />and sampling of numerous groundwater monitoring, soil vapor extraction, and air <br />sparge wells, and managed the operation, maintenance, and evaluation of remediation <br />systems.
