Public Works Agency https://www.santa-ana.org/pw Item # 13 City of Santa Ana 20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 Staff Report June 15, 2021 TOPIC: Purchase of One Ford Super Duty F550 Valve Truck AGENDA TITLE Award a Purchase Order in the Amount of $152,051 to Transwest Truck Center, LLC for One Ford Super Duty F550 Valve Truck (Specification No. 21-052) (Non-General Fund) RECOMMENDED ACTION Authorize a one-time purchase and payment of purchase order to Transwest Truck Center, LLC for one Ford Super Duty F550 Valve Truck in the amount of $152,051 plus a contingency of $10,000, for a total amount not to exceed $162,051, subject to non- substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. DISCUSSION The Public Works Agency’s Water Resources Division oversees and maintains the City’s water system, including approximately 444 miles of water main. The Water Resources Division is requesting the purchase of a new truck to provide additional capacity for the system maintenance crews, which maintain the City’s water system control valves. This specialty vehicle is critical to ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality water service to the customers in the City of Santa Ana. The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on April 13, 2021, on the City’s online bid management and publication system.
