INC. <br />Chemical releases in the storm drain syste <br />FLUSHING <br />METHOD <br />Obtain information on spill location <br />system size, area of decontamination & cleaning method <br />Mobilize first team to spill site. <br />Conduct Tailgate Safety Meeting <br />Implement Traffic control <br />(if necessary) <br />Confined space entry permit <br />and safety meeting <br />Test atmosphere with <br />4-gas meter <br />Vent system with intrinsically <br />safe coppus blower <br />Set up containment with sand I <br />bags at downstream <br />Begin flushing (use hot <br />water if needed) <br />Vaccuum release water at <br />containment location <br />Continue flushing <br />(if needed) <br />tripod with duel winches <br />and enter system <br />Based on spill site. Determin\ <br />associating outfall per drain map <br />Mobilize second team to outfall <br />Conduct Tailgate Safety Meeting <br />Boom off outfall egress. Lay down abosorbent <br />pads as additional containment <br />If Boom absorbs contaminants. Switch out with <br />clean boom until all contaminants are abosrobed <br />Leave boom/pads for 1-2 days in case if contaminant <br />appears. Intermittently check boom <br />If boom is dirty <br />dispose accordingly <br />PRESSURE WASHING <br />METHOD <br />Set up containment <br />and pressure wash the system <br />Inspection & approval of <br />cleanliness by City <br />Remove containment <br />(sand bags) <br />Transport and off-load I <br />bulk liquid at disposal site <br />Transport Solids to OB yard <br />and later TSDF disposal <br />If boom is clean <br />dispose in trash <br />JETTING <br />METHOD <br />Set up containment with sand <br />bags at downstream <br />Set up jetter at downstream <br />and start high-pressure <br />jetting upstream <br />Vaccuum release water at <br />containment location <br />Continue jetting <br />(if needed) <br />Mail manifest copies to <br />DTSC <br />Page 17 of 29 <br />
