FREE RECORDING PURSUANT TO <br />GOVERNMENT CODE § 27383 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2021-XXX <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION APPLICATION <br />NO. 2020-09 TO PLACE THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT <br />2042 NORTH VICTORIA DRIVE, SANTA ANA, ON THE <br />HISTORICAL REGISTER AND APPROVING HISTORIC <br />REGISTER CATEGORIZATION NO. 2020-08 PLACING <br />SAID PROPERTY WITHIN THE CONTRIBUTIVE <br />CATEGORY <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana <br />hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br />A. On October 29, 2020, the Historic Resources Commission held a duly <br />noticed public hearing for the placement on the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Properties (Historic Resources Commission Application No. <br />2020-09) and categorization (Historic Resources Commission <br />Categorization No. 2020-08) of the Hamilton-Schoppert House located at <br />2042 North Victoria Drive, Santa Ana. <br />B. At the public hearing, the Historic Resources Commission expressed <br />concerns regarding staff's recommendation regarding the structure's <br />architectural style of Minimal Traditional. Therefore, the Historic <br />Resources Commission voted to continue the item to afford City staff time <br />to affirm the most appropriate architectural style with the City's historic <br />consultant. <br />C. On March 25, 2021, the Historic Resources Commission held a continued <br />public hearing for the placement on the Santa Ana Register of Historical <br />Properties (Historic Resources Commission Application No. 2020-09) and <br />categorization (Historic Resources Commission Categorization No. 2020- <br />08) of the Hamilton-Schoppert House located at 2042 North Victoria Drive, <br />Santa Ana. <br />D. A subsequent architectural assessment concluded by the City's historic <br />consultant, Chattel, Inc., affirms that the Hamilton-Schoppert House has <br />distinctive architectural features of the Minimal Traditional style. <br />E. The Hamilton-Schoppert House, built in 1956, qualifies for listing in the <br />Santa Ana Register of Historical Properties under Criterion No. 1 for <br />embodiment of the distinguishing characteristics of the Minimal Traditional <br />style, dating from the second period of development on North Victoria <br />Lane. Additionally, the house has been categorized as "Contributive" <br />Resolution No. 2021-XXX <br />Page 1 of 5 <br />
