<br />Resolution No. 2021-XXX <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />LR 4/20/21 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2021-XXX <br /> <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE <br />CALIFORNIA STATE LIBRARY FOR THE LIBRARY’S <br />WORKFORCE PARTNERSHIP INITIATIVE WITH THE <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY IN THE AMOUNT <br />OF $16,500 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR <br />HER DESIGNEE TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY <br />AGREEMENTS OR AMENDMENTS THERETO THAT MAY <br />BE NECESSARY <br /> <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the California State Library has certain grant funds available <br />pursuant to the federal Library Services and Technology Act; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City’s Library Services Agency submitted an application for <br />these grants funds for a W orkforce Partnership Initiative Project (“The Project”). <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City was notified that it has been selected for a grant award, by <br />the California State Library, in the amount of $16,500 for the Project. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as part of the Project the City’s Library Services Agency and the <br />Community Development Agency will partner together using the City’s Work Center <br />resources and Library Resources to offer work force training to residents of the City; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Project will provide resources, training, and support for library <br />staff working with adults in the areas of employment, unemployment benefits <br />applications, job skilling, resumes, interviewing, and career change; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Project will also create a partnership with the California Labor <br />and Workforce Development Agency to share resources, training, and understanding for <br />the benefit of California residents in the job market. <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares that the City of Santa Ana hereby accepts the award of grant funds from <br />the California State Library in the amount of $16,500 for the Project. <br /> <br /> Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby authorizes the <br />City Manager or her designee on terms acceptable to the City Attorney, to execute any <br />documents that are necessary to accept the grant award for the Project described
