Public Works Agency <br />https://www.santa-ana.org/pw <br />Item # 23 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br />Staff Report <br />April 20, 2021 <br />TOPIC: Design and Construction Services for the 17th Street Triangle Park Renovation <br />AGENDA TITLE <br />Approve Agreement with Little Diversified Architectural Consulting Inc. for Design and <br />Construction Services for 17th Street Triangle Park Renovation in an Amount not to <br />Exceed $81,323 for a Three -Year Term (Project No. 21-2741) (Non -General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with Little Diversified Architectural <br />Consulting Inc. to complete plans, specifications, and a cost estimate for the 17th Street <br />Triangle Park Renovation Project in the amount of $73,930, with a 10 percent contingency <br />of $7,393 in an amount not to exceed $81,323 for a three-year term beginning April 20, <br />2021 and expiring April 19, 2024, with an option for two, one-year extensions, subject to <br />non -substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On January 12, 2021, the Public Works Agency released Request for Proposal (RFP) No. <br />20-130 to seek the services of a professional engineering firm to provide complete plans, <br />specifications, and a cost estimate for the design of a steel overlook deck at 17th Street <br />Triangle Park that deters encampments and will withstand fire damage. This proposed <br />project focuses on the reconstruction of the boardwalk deck overlook, riparian <br />landscaping, lighting, and signage (interpretive and mile markers). <br />The RFP was advertised on the City's online procurement management and publication <br />system, with proposals due on February 2, 2021. Three proposals were received and <br />evaluated by a selection committee. In accordance with the qualifications -based <br />selection process, the fee schedule was opened for the top -ranked firm following proposal <br />evaluation. Based on criteria outlined in the RFP, the following summarizes the <br />responding firms and their ranking. <br />
