Legislative Advocacy Services <br />April 6, 2021 <br />Page 5 <br />6 <br />2 <br />5 <br />Local, State, and Federal Government Associations <br />The City of Santa Ana subscribes to several local, state, and federal government <br />associations to advocate for all types of policy matters that affect local governments. <br />Participation in all of the following associations are voluntary: <br />Memberships <br />and Dues <br />FY 2020-21 <br />Expenditure <br />Description <br />Orange <br />County <br />Council of <br />Governments <br />(OCCOG) <br />$26,770 Regional governing and/or coordinating bodies that offer <br />planning, coordination, and technical assistance to their <br />members to administer programs at a regional level; acts as <br />intermediaries between the local government members and <br />the state or federal government <br />U.S. <br />Conference of <br />Mayors <br />$20,500 Official non-partisan organization of cities with populations of <br />30,000 or more; exists to accomplish the following: helps <br />develop and promote effective national urban/suburban <br />policy; builds stronger and more effective federal-city <br />relationships; monitors the effectiveness of federal policy in <br />terms of its service to urban needs; serves to help mayors <br />develop leadership and management tools; and creates a <br />forum in which mayors can share ideas and information <br />Association of <br />California <br />Cities – <br />Orange <br />County (ACC- <br />OC) <br />$52,800 Association of Orange County cities that represent the <br />interests of Orange County cities on regional public policy <br />issues <br />League of <br />California <br />Cities <br />$63,070 Association of California cities that advocates for cities at the <br />State Capitol to expand and protect local control for cities <br />through education and advocacy to enhance the quality of <br />life for all Californians <br />At this time, staff requests City Council direction relating to continuing participation with <br />the above-mentioned associations. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />There is no environmental impact associated with this action. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds are available in Fiscal Year 2020-21 in the following accounts from April 1, 2021 <br />through June 30, 2021: <br />Department Fund Account Townsend <br />Public Affairs <br />Holland & <br />Knight LLP <br />Public Works <br />Agency <br />Fund 101 10117601- <br />62300 <br />$5,000 $9,800
