#9099v3 Resolution No. 2021-XXX <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2021 –XXX <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR <br />STATEWIDE PARK DEVELOPMENT AND COMMUNITY <br />REVITALIZATION PROGRAM GRANT FUNDS FOR THE <br />MEMORIAL PARK COMMUNITY CENTER AND GYM <br />(PHASE 1-COMMUNITY CENTER) PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated <br />the responsibility by the Legislature of the State of California for the administration of the <br />Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Grant Program, s etting up <br />necessary procedures governing the application; and <br />WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of Parks and <br />Recreation require the Applicant to certify by Resolution the approval of the application <br />before submission of said application to the State; and <br />WHEREAS, successful Applicants will enter into a contract with the State of <br />California to complete the Grant Scope project; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and <br />declares as follows: <br />A. That the Santa Ana City Council approves the filing of an application for the <br />Memorial Park Community Center and Gym (Phase 1-Community Center) Project <br />for $8,500,000 through the Statewide Park Development and Community <br />Revitalization Program (“Project”). The proposed Project has two phases. The <br />application is for phase one of the Project to demolish the existing community <br />center structure and construct a 26,000 square foot Community Center with a <br />multi-purpose room, community room, recreational room, kitchen, additional <br />activity rooms, staff offices, and restrooms. The Project will also include outdoor <br />walkways, patio, new landscaping, security lighting around the outside of facility, <br />a parking lot on the north side of the park, and additional restrooms next to the <br />existing pool area. <br /> <br />B. That the Santa Ana City Council certifies that if the project is awarded, the City has <br />or will have available prior to the commencement of any work on the Project <br />sufficient funds to operate and maintain the Project. <br /> <br />Exhibit 1
