<br />Orange County Superior Court. Prior to that flute, all software testing aclivides within the Courts IT
<br />organizallon iuere coaducted by the software developers. The Court requested Sierra to recommend a formal
<br />software QA methodology to be perforated by mt ittdepettdettt grottp wltlrfit lire IT Departnteirt. As a resttlt of that
<br />study and recotnniendation, Sierra was awarded the follow-on work to provide QA staff personnel, which has led
<br />to additional temporary IT personnel .Staffing contrarts, to support all branches of the IT Department, including
<br />the followltrg.
<br />Software Quality Assurance — Sierra provided a senior analyst since the original contract award plus temporary
<br />staff augmentation as needs and budget have required_ Our staff participated throughout the entire Software
<br />Development Life Cycle (SDLC), with primary responsibilities in the areas of testing, quality oversight,
<br />requirements evaluation for testability, test case development and execution, and test results reporting. Larger
<br />specific assignments included the District Attorney's Interface enabling the DA to electronically file complaint
<br />information and the Interactive Voice Response system to enable customers to conduct fundamental court business
<br />over the phone for activities such as basic fee payment, traffic school requests, and case extension requests.
<br />SQL Server Database Administration — Sierra provided a SQL Server DBA, with Oracle skills also, to assist the
<br />Court in identifying and installing patches and upgrades to the SQL Server database and to support transitions
<br />between Oracle and SQL Server. Other tasks involved creating and implementing appropriate security policies,
<br />database tuning, development of backup and restore policies, creation of test environments, ensuring high
<br />availability of databases, utilizing ETL or web services or DE links for connection, integration, and merging of
<br />various databases, establishing automatic monitoring and notification of database status, providing diagnostics and
<br />debugging guidance for software development teams, documenting database architecture, usage, and licensing,
<br />charting plans for future growth, and mentoring other members of the DB staff.
<br />PowerBuilder Case Management System Upgrades — Sierra has provided PowerBuilder developers to enhance
<br />and maintain the Court's Vision court case application, handling traffic and felony cases. Functionality covers
<br />Courtroom, Calendar, Person, Records, Exhibits, Fiscal, Warrants, Bail, and Reporting. The effort requires working
<br />with Court users to determine data needs and to formulate and refine enhancement requests, then to implement, test,
<br />and document modifications to application windows, reports, and backend processes, creating and modifying Oracle
<br />database triggers. Additional work efforts have included user training and coaching of less experienced developers
<br />in SQL or PLISQL programming. Technologies utilized have included Sybase PowerBuilder 11.5, Microsoft Visual
<br />Source Safe, Oracle lOg and I lg, TOAD, Microsoft Office 2007 (Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote), Oracle's SQL
<br />Developer, SQL Anywhere, PowerDesigner, SQL Server database, Visual Studio, .NET framework, ASP.NET,
<br />ADO -NET, SharePoint Server and SharePoint Developer.
<br />SharePoint Migration — Sierra converted a ColdFusion application (Judicial Roster) to reside in SharePoint and
<br />connect to a SQL Database, Previously there was no user interface and the IT Department was entering data into the
<br />SQL database tables manually. We created various Web Parts that included lists and data entry forms for data
<br />entry. The development environment was Visual Studio 3.5 Framework ASP.Net using Visual Basic and
<br />WSPBuilder to create the Web Parts and deploy to SharePoint 2007 within a Feature.
<br />Web Changes - conversion from ColdFusion. We used out -of -the -box Web Parts and SharePoint Designer to create
<br />workflow_ We converted data from SQL Server 2000 database tables into SharePoint Lists and Content Types using
<br />BIDS (Business Intelligence Development Studio) and SSIS (SQL Integration Services) to Extract Transfer and
<br />Load data. Products used are Microsoft Visual Studio 3.5 Framework, ASP.Net, Visual Basie/C#/JavaScript, SQL
<br />Reporting Services, SQL Integration Services (5SIS), SmartPart, and 1(2.
