BUSINESS CALENDAR
1. RESOLUTION CONDEMNING THE INSURRECTION AND VIOLENCE THAT OCCURRED AT THE U.S.
CAPITOL ON JANUARY 6, 2021 AND CALLING FOR A PEACEFUL TRANSITION OF POWER
Recommended Action: Adopt a resolution condemning the insurrection and violence that occurred at
the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021 and calling for a peaceful transition of power.
Name Comment - 01/12/2021 02:37 PM: (For)
Ben Mendoza Good evening Mayor Sarmiento and City Council members,
I just wanted to make a comment and applaud the action of our city council to create
a resolution condemning that Capitol attack that occurred last week. At a time when
our communities and our nation are divided over politics, it is important to go on
record and condemn any attack on democracy, as was the case last week.
I also hope our city council will try to work with the incoming Biden administration to
get some help for small businesses in this nation, my business included. With the
end of the previous administration, it is my hope that the incoming administration
listens to not just huge corporations in this great nation, but also small mom and pop
businesses that are struggling to remain open. Again, thank you Mayor and City
Council members for all of your hard work. It is appreciated.
Ben Mendoza
Kelly's Body Shop Inc.
2041 S.
