Public Works Agency <br />www.santa-ana.org/public-works <br />Item # 8 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br /> Staff Report <br />October 3, 2023 <br />TOPIC: Purchase of Two Chevrolet Trucks for Public Works Agency <br />AGENDA TITLE <br />Award Purchase Orders to Guaranty Chevrolet Motors, Inc. and Penske Chevrolet of <br />Cerritos for Two Chevrolet Trucks in an Aggregate Amount Not to Exceed $212,899 <br />(Specification No. 23-146) (General Fund and Non-General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />1. Authorize a one-time purchase and payment of purchase order to Guaranty Chevrolet <br />Motors, Inc. for one Chevrolet 2500HD Truck in the amount of $92,377, plus a <br />contingency amount of $10,000, for a total amount not to exceed $102,377, subject to <br />non-substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br /> <br />2. Authorize a one-time purchase and payment of purchase order to Penske Chevrolet <br />of Cerritos for one Chevrolet 2500HD Utility Service Body Truck in the amount of <br />$100,522, plus a contingency amount of $10,000, for a total amount not to exceed <br />$110,522, subject to non-substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City <br />Attorney. <br />GOVERNMENT CODE §84308 APPLIES:Yes <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Agency’s Parks, Fleet, and Facilities Division is responsible for the <br />acquisition, maintenance, repair, and replacement of vehicles, trucks, and maintenance <br />equipment. The Fleet Services section also assists in facilitating the acquisition and <br />replacement of city vehicles and equipment that have surpassed its useful lifecycle. <br />The Parks Maintenance team provides landscape maintenance services throughout City <br />parks and facilities. Park Services Inspectors and General Maintenance Workers are <br />tasked to identify infrastructure and irrigation system needs and coordinate with <br />appropriate external agencies and contractors. The vehicle requested is to replace Park <br />Maintenance’s aging fleet that have surpassed its useful lifecycle.
