Tram Le, Ails & Culture Specialist
City of Santa. Ana, Community Development Agency
20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701
Dear Ms. Le,
I am writing on behalf of Santa Ana Unified School District's Ails Department to express our
interest in applying for the Graffiti Arts Program grant. Our proposed program aims to bring
awareness of the downtown murals as well as various nmral styles, media, and techniques.
As you are aware, Santa Ana is a city rich in cultural heritage and artistic expression. The murals
located throughout oar downtown area are a testament to the creativity and vibrancy of our
community. However, many of these murals go unnoticed by the public, and we believe that
through the Graffiti Arts Program, we can shed light on these amazing works of art and inspire
the next generation of artists.
Our program will be aimed at high school students in the Santa Ana Unified School District. We
plan to provide hands-on workshops where students will learn about different mural styles, media,
and techniques, including graffiti art. Through these workshops, students will have the
opportunity to develop their artistic skills and express their creativity in a positive and
constructive way.
We also plan to take students on walking tours of the downtown area, where they will be able to
view and learn about the various murals. This will not only give students a better understanding
of the history and cultural significance of these murals, but it will also allow them to see the
potential of mural art in their own communities.
We believe that our Graffiti Arts Program will be a valuable addition to the Santa Ana
community, and we are excited about the possibility of partnering with the City of Santa Ana and
the Community Development Agency to make it a reality. We are committed to providing an
enriching and educational experience for our students, while also promoting the beauty and
cultural significance of the downtown murals.
Thank you for your consideration of our grant proposal. We look forward to the opportunity to
collaborate with the City of Santa Ana and make a positive impact on our community.
Sincerely,
Robyn MacNair
SAUSD Arts Coordinator
Santa Ana Unified School District
/
Lindsey Barfield
SAUSD Ails Program Specialist
Santa Ana Unified School District
