Human Resources <br />www.santa-ana.org/human-resources <br />Item # 31 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br />Staff Report <br />November 7, 2023 <br />TOPIC: First Amendment to Preventative Ergonomics Assessments Services Agreement <br />with Jorge Melgoza, DBA Ardent Ergonomics <br />AGENDA TITLE <br />Approve a First Amendment to the Agreement with Jorge Melgoza, DBA Ardent <br />Ergonomics for preventative ergonomics assessments <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize the City Manager to execute a first amendment to the agreement with Jorge <br />Melgoza, DBA Ardent Ergonomics, to continue to provide preventative ergonomic <br />assessments for City employees for an additional amount not to exceed $50,000 (not to <br />exceed $100,000 for the entirety of the Agreement expiring on November 22, 2024), <br />subject to non -substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney <br />(Agreement No. 2023-XXX). <br />GOVERNMENT CODE §84308 APPLIES: Yes <br />DISCUSSION <br />The City has a contractual relationship with Jorge Melgoza, DBA Ardent Ergonomics, for <br />preventative ergonomics services, which include ergonomic assessments and <br />evaluations. The Agreement provides the City with the resources necessary to efficiently <br />meet its ergonomic compliance and safety needs, on an as -needed basis. Ardent <br />Ergonomics has specialized experience and expert knowledge in the field of ergonomic <br />evaluations and conducting ergonomic risk assessments. The First Amendment to the <br />Agreement will increase the not -to -exceed amount from $50,000 to $100,000. The <br />Amendment does not guarantee work for the consultant. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Contract authority may be paid in its entirety during any given fiscal year, expended <br />throughout the term of the contract, or not spent at all. Moreover, any contract services <br />and associated expenditures are subject to available funding in the Human Resources <br />Department budget. Funds are budgeted and available in the following accounts for the <br />specified year: <br />
