SERVICES PROVIDED <br />Course Name: i-:iso I @k-i>o'x-pJ <br />At the Point of the Spear: Fire Service Leadership <br />Scope: <br />Mission-Centered Solutions, Inc., (MCS) is responding to a request for a quote to provide up to five (5) <br />programs of leadership training for the fire service, addressing the unique needs of fire professionals. <br />This course directs the professional toward a historical understanding of fire leadership from past to <br />present day. Tlie objective of this training is to instruct first-line leaders (senior firefighters, engineers, <br />company captains and battalion chiefs) of emergency response units in the core cultural attitudes and <br />behaviors that enable them to lead high-fiu'ictioning teams in high-risk operations. The program covers <br />topics such as t'nemory and conduct, leadership impact and adaptability, team building and learning, error <br />resiliency, stress managei'nent, accountability and standards, commrinication and conflict resolution, and <br />ethical leadersliip. The program uses a mix of theoiy and principles with a nexus to classroom exercises, <br />case examples, and field exercises to provide realistic application opportunities for the participants. The <br />program is based on established U.S. military programs and follows tlie principles of At the Point of the <br />Spear: Leading and preparing emergency response units. <br />Course Description: <br />At the Point of the Spear.' Leading and preparing emergency response rmits focuses on helping response <br />leaders build more cohesive, adaptive, and resilient teams. This program teaches principles for leading in <br />high-risk and high-stress envirorunents, building team cohesion, and resolving conflicts and problems <br />within the team. Using a mix of theoiy, case studies, classroom exercises, and field exercises, this <br />interactive program is designed to reinforce mission-driven operational culture at the team level and to <br />provide a framework from whicli to launch future organizational development. This program is <br />appropriate for fire service captains, battalion cliiefs and emergency leaders. It is approved by the u.s. <br />Department of Homeland Security (DHS)'s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as CA- <br />002-PREV in the State and Federal Sponsored Training Catalog and certified by the National Wildfire <br />Coordinating Group (NWCG) as meeting the L-380 certification standard.
