Alcala, Abigail
From: Susan Muzila <
Sent: Tuesday, December 5, 2023 11:05 AM
To: eComment
Subject: Pro Palestinian Resolution
I am writing to express my concerns regarding the recent discussions and actions taken by some of our City
Council members concerning matters that extend beyond the purview of local governance - specifically,
engagement in foreign policy issues.
As a resident of this city, I greatly appreciate the dedication and efforts of the Council in addressing local
matters that directly impact our community's well-being. However, recent discussions and resolutions
involving foreign policy matters are clearly diverting attention and resources away from the primary
responsibilities of local governance.
While acknowledging the importance of international affairs, I believe that the City Council's role should
primarily focus on addressing local concerns, such as infrastructure, education, PUBLIC SAFETY, and
community development. Engaging in foreign policy matters do not align with the core responsibilities
entrusted to the Council by the citizens of our city.
A strong stance to a specific "side" of these international issues will only perpetuate a divisive community and
threaten the public safety of those that live within your city limits.
Susan C. Muzila
