Araiza, Fatima From: Sent: To: Subject: Santa Ana Council Members, Alice ML < Tuesday, December 05, 2023 9:21 PM eComment Dec 5 Council Meeting, Agenda 19 I am shocked and disheartened that two of the City of Santa Ana Councilmen feel the need to open discussion in not just international affairs, but posed in a way that can be construed as emboldening hate and violence toward Jewish Americans, already a horrifying 388% increase in antisemitism in the US putting fellow Jewish Americans at great risk due to mis and disinformation pushed from the title of this Agenda item alone. Why is this mis and disinformation? Please see below, hoping you will take the time to understand that Hamas are a formal terrorist organization and if Americans actually cared for Gazans and people in Palestine, they would be very pro -Israel. There are ZERO Jews & ZERO open LGBTQ in Gaza and Palestine as Hamas would have them & has had them killed - please check. Israel, on the other hand, has the ONLY Pride Parade in the Middle East - please understand why this is. Gazans and people in Palestine live under Terrorist Hamas Rule, they live under Sharia law - anti -Israel is supporting Hamas Terrorist Rule, Supporting Sharia Law. We are beyond privileged and fortunate to live in America where we are not forced to live under Sharia Law and radical terrorist rule. Agenda 19: Discuss and Consider Directing the Interim City Manager to Prepare a Resolution for City Council's Consideration to Call in Support of a Ceasefire in Gaza — Councilmembers Vazquez and Hernandez The job of the council people "is the governing body of the City, except as otherwise provided in the Charter, and enacts ordinances subject to the approval or veto of the Mayor. It orders elections, levies taxes, authorizes public improvements, approves contracts, and adopts traffic regulations." How on earth does Gaza play into your agenda, unless you are hoping to continue the antisemitic and anti -Israel propaganda? Unfortunately, most people are uneducated on the Middle East and forming opinions without the education is just showing your ignorance. The charter of Hamas, the "government' of Palestine, is to annihilate Israel and the Jewish people. When Hamas first took over the Palestinians in the 80's they started with suicide bombers until Israel put up a fence/border around the area. They then took up rocket launching and thankfully, Israel is a very tech savvy country so they were able to build an Iron Dome to stop the rockets from killing innocent Israelis. The Palestinians used all their international funding from the U.S. that was to build schools and educate their people, and instead, built over 300 miles of tunnels to hide out their terror organization and infiltrate Israel.
