RESOLUTION NO. 2023-076 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA ACCEPTING ADDITIONAL FY2022 URBAN <br />AREA SECURITY INITIATIVE SUB -RECIPIENT FUNDING <br />"TA i• = - - Iz•» ur1L•1►r_1a ►�� A WkIU <br />it�■II��,i�Y��ii������i��r����■I��rI�l�LL�lI_��1;�>rl��*7�rL�]�•yi�itr � i � � i � <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br />A. The United States Department of Homeland Security has developed the Urban <br />Areas Security Initiative funding program (UASI). UASI provides funds to local <br />emergency first responders to purchase equipment, planning, training, <br />exercises and technical assistance to enhance security and preparedness to <br />prevent, respond to, and recover from acts of terrorism. <br />B. In FY 2006, the United States Department of Homeland Security combined the <br />Anaheim and Santa Ana Urban Areas into a single Urban Area, and provided <br />for shared administrative responsibilities between Santa Ana and Anaheim. In <br />FY 2022, Anaheim will be the lead administrative agency for UASI funding. <br />C. On October 17, 2023, the City of Santa Ana recognized a funding award from <br />the City of Anaheim for the in FY 2022 Urban Area Security Initiative in the <br />amount of $1,822,800. <br />D The City of Santa Ana was notified that additional funds have been awarded <br />from the City of Anaheim for fiscal year 2022 UASI in the amount of $105,000. <br />Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby authorizes and <br />directs the City Manager and the Chief of Police or their designee(s) to accept an <br />additional $105,000 in FY 2022 Urban Areas Security Initiative funding, increasing the <br />sub -recipient award from $1,822,800 to $1,927,800. <br />Section 3. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby approves an <br />Appropriation Adjustment recognizing the FY 2022 Urban Area Security Initiative in the <br />additional amount of $105,000 and appropriates the same in the FY 2022 Urban Area <br />Security Initiative Program Grant expenditure accounts. <br />Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by <br />the City Council and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting <br />this Resolution. <br />ADOPTED this 21$t day of November, 2023. <br />Resolution No. 2023-076 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
