Number of expected 2.00 attendance for your event Brief Description of Heritage Museum of Orange County (HMOC) invites the local community to Project be a part of our Dia de los Muertos community event and ofrenda (altar). Local community members are invited to share photos of loved ones lost which will be printed, framed, and displayed on the community altar in our volunteer -constructed adobe. HMOC staff and local art students will work together to construct and decorate the ofrenda in a traditional style, paying homage to the holiday's indigenous and Mexican roots. HMOC hopes to offer culturally -significant crafts and activities for children, as well as traditional foods, and live music. Describe the Heritage Museum of Orange County's Dia do los Muertos Community Altar community benefits gives members of the local community, no matter their religious or ethnic of this event background, an opportunity to celebrate this significant holiday and to remember loved ones lost. HMOC offers this event as a way to honor and commemorate members of the community whom we have lost, and to engage the community in healing and remembering. HMOC hopes to educate those who have not traditionally celebrated Dia de los Muertos about the significance of the holiday, by providing a platform for those who have a deep connection to Dia de los Muertos to share their knowledge and cultural wealth.
