Santa Ana Multidisciplinary Response Team (SMART) Program 2023 Progress <br />Report <br />Department(s): Community Development Agency <br />Recommended Action: Receive and file SMART Program 2023 Progress Report. <br />MINUTES: Councilmember Bacerra requested CityNet be present to accept services <br />for individuals being released from the jail. <br />Homeless Services Division Manager Kenneth Gominsky spoke regarding the release <br />of inmates and stated placing a CityNet individual outside the jail would be difficult, and <br />spoke regarding his audit experience with CityNet services and a potential operation <br />partnership with Project Kinship. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Lopez asked for clarification related to the numbers for permanent <br />housing and detox and mental health beds. <br />Homeless Services Division Manager Gominsky spoke regarding permanent housing <br />and availability of beds. <br />Mayor Amezcua asked for clarification regarding the number of social workers. <br />Homeless Services Division Manager Gominsky spoke regarding the number of social <br />workers and hours of services, and new laws and impacts related to mental health. <br />Discussion ensued regarding increased service hours from CityNet, collected data for <br />calls for service, and associated costs and fees. <br />City Council 9 October 17, 2023 <br />
