J <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />c. All areas shall be kept free of weeds at all times. <br />d. There shall be no spraying of weeds in sand court areas. <br />e. Areas shall be edged and the turf surrounds maintained. If sand berms <br />accumulate in turf, they must be removed and replaced with sod. <br />f. All sand areas shall be rototilled monthly, at least three (3) weeks apart, <br />to the maximum depth that will allow complete loosening of the sand but <br />will not cause lower base materials to be mixed in with the sand <br />(approximately 12"). After rototilling, all areas shall be raked level. <br />g. Sand shall be replenished as necessary to maintain optimum level in <br />each area. Generally, six inches (6") below the top of the concrete <br />curbing is acceptable. However, dependent upon play equipment footing, <br />the final level shall be determined by CR for each area. Sand will be <br />provided by the City but spread and leveled by the Contractor. <br />h. In the event of storms and periods of excessive rainfall, or the sand court <br />areas become flooded resulting in standing water, the Contractor shall <br />remove the water immediately, as directed by the CR. Water shall be <br />discharged to a safe area. <br />2. Hard Surface Areas <br />These areas include concrete sidewalks, medians, skate parks, tennis courts, <br />handball courts, basketball courts, bicycle trails, asphalt concrete (AC) walkways, <br />and bandshells. <br />a. All areas shall be inspected daily and maintained in a neat, clean, and <br />safe condition at all times. Any hazards shall be reported immediately <br />to the CR. <br />b. All areas shall be swept or blown daily to remove all deposits of silt, <br />sand, glass, and all foreign objects. <br />c. All sports courts, stages, and bandshells shall be power washed per <br />the pressure washing schedule, or as needed. The contractor will <br />work with the CR to determine the schedule. <br />d. Cracks and crevices must be kept free of weeds at all times. <br />e. Sidewalks should be blown daily, reference Section A., General <br />Operations, No.3. <br />3. Bicycle Trails/AC Walkways <br />Special emphasis shall be placed on chemical edging along these areas to <br />prevent damage to asphalt by vegetation. All such damage shall be repaired at <br />Contractor's sole expense. <br />4. Decomposed Granite (DG) Surfaces.
