She spoke regarding falsehoods being told to the public regarding her <br />proposed recall election. <br />Councilmember Bacerra thanked the community for their participation and spoke in <br />opposition to the State's decision to allow needle distribution in the City. <br />Mayor Amezcua commented on affordable housing in the City and requested additional <br />information regarding the Chicano Art Show. <br />City Manager Kristine Ridge provided brief clarification regarding the Art Show. <br />Mayor Amezcua announced a Housing Informational meeting at El Salvador Park on <br />August 24, 2023, at 6:00 P.M. and Coffee with the Mayor at French Park on August 26, <br />2023. She spoke regarding various issues she has had to address while in office. She <br />noted that an ad hoc committee had been created to address an alleged Code of Ethics <br />violation by a member of the City Council, as required by the Charter. She further noted <br />that a separate complaint submitted by Councilmember Hernandez against herself and <br />three other councilmembers had been referred to the District Attorney's Office for <br />investigation. <br />City Council 24 August 15, 2023 <br />
